Vehicle Restrictions Of San José Back On Monday

For the last two weeks the vehicular restrictions of San José were suspended. The lighter traffic conditions due to the mid-year school break meant using police resources in other areas.

However, starting at 6am Monday, all vehicles with license plates ending in 1 and 2 will be restricted from circulating in San José and drivers face a ¢46.000 colones (all in) fine.

The vehicular restriction measure is to reduce traffic congestion in the downtown core on weekdays and encourage the use of public transportation and/or form car pools.
