Nicoya
Sports
New
Boulevard
For
this
year's
celebration
of
July
25,
the
annexation
of
the
province
of
Guanacaste,
visitors
attending
the
festivities
in
Nicoya
will
see
the
new
boulevard,
an
investment
by
Consejo
Nacional
de
Vialidad
(Conavi)
of
¢370
million
colones.

José
Luis
Salas,
executive
director
of
the
CONAVI,
said
that
this
stretch
of
road
had
level
problems
(similar
to
most
roads
in
the
country),
which
led
to
the
complete
rebuilding
of
the
road,
including
a
new
concrete
base
and
a 5
centimetre
thick
asphalt
top.
In
addition
to
significant
improvements
were
made
to
the
sewer
and
water
pipes
running
below
the
road
surface.
Trees
were
pruned,
weeds
removed
and
an
island
was
created
as
part
of
the
new
boulevard,
the
Bulevar
San
Martín,
typical
of
boulevards
in
other
major
towns
in
Guanacaste,
like
Santa
Rosa
and
Liberia.
