Dead,
More
Evacuations
In
Costa
Rica
Heavy
rains
have
triggered
floods
and
have
forced
evacuations
in
seven
cantons
in
the
provinces
of
Limón
and
Cartago
and
responsible
for
two
deaths.
As
of
Monday,
four
people
are
still
missing,
down
from
the
earlier,
according
to
the
Cruz
Roja
Costarricense
(Costa
Rican
Red
Cross).

The
government
has
declared
a
"yellow
alert"
for
parts
of
Limón
and
Cartago,
the
two
provinces
greatly
affected
by
the
constant
rains
since
Friday
that
let
up
Monday
afternoon.
The
Cruz
Roja
is
no
releasing
the
names
of
the
victims,
saying
only
that
first
death
was
a
result
of
injuries
and
heart
failure
after
the
man
was
trapped
in
landslide
in
Turrialba,
dying
on
the
way
to
hospital.

The
second
death,
apparently
is
of a
young
man
(believed
between
20
and
25
years
of
age),
that
was
swept
away
by a
river
current.
The
latest
victim
is a
resident
of
Banasol,
in
Matina
de
Limón.
As
of
last
night
almost
2.000
people
are
being
housed
in
shelters.
