La
Fortuna
to
Tilarán
now
open
The
Consejo
de
Seguridad
Vial
(Cosevi)
announced
on
Friday
that
passage
between
La
Fortuna
and
Tilarán
is
now
open
again,
being
closed
the
past
week
due
to a
landslide.
The
Cosevi
once
again
applied
the
use
of a
Bailey
structure,
a
common
practice
in
Costa
Rica
over
the
last
few
years,
in
lieu
of
building
a
permanent
bridge.
The
good
news
is
that
the
area
is
now
once
again
fully
open
to
tourists
who
for
the
past
two
weeks
were
staying
away
from
the
popular
tourist
area
or
having
to
take
the
long
road,
through
San
Ramon,
Puntarenas
and
Cañas
to
get
from
the
Arenal
volcano
to
the
Arenal
lake.
