Meeting
Panama
Virtual
Educa
2012,
to
train
teachers
in
new
technologies,
began
its
second
day
of
sessions
today
at
the
ATLAPA
Convention
Center.
The
meeting,
involving
representatives
from
around
twenty
countries,
was
inaugurated
yesterday
by
the
President
of
Panama,
Ricardo
Martinelli,
and
the
Secretary
General
of
the
Organization
of
American
States
(OAS),
José
Miguel
Insulza.
Roberto
Henriquez,
Minister
of
Foreign
Affairs,
said
Insulza
came
to
Panama
exclusively
to
participate
in
Virtual
Educa.
The
meeting
is
attended
by
experts
and
representatives
of
companies
focused
on
innovation
and
technology,
who
give
lectures,
workshops
and
seminars.
According
to
organizers,
the
goal
is
to
promote
digital
education,
educational
services
in
social
networks,
the
quality
of
virtual
education,
the
role
of
the
university
in a
knowledge
society
and
digital
inclusion
for
social
cohesion.
The
slogan
of
the
meeting
is
"Education,
Innovation,
Competitiveness
and
Development:
the
Keys
to
our
Future."
