Ruta 27 Tolls To Drop On Sunday

At the 12:01am Sunday the cost of the tolls on the San José - Caldera (Ruta 27) will drop ¢10 colones at Escazú, La Guacima and Atenas.

At the Escazú toll stations, the cost of passenger vehicles and motorcycles will drop from the current ¢300 to ¢290. At La Gucima the new toll will be ¢440 from ¢450, in Atenas the tolls will drop to ¢590 from ¢600.

Some of the ramps will also see a drop in toll rates.

Autopistas del Sol, the road concessionaire, says the drop is due to the exchange rate.

The tolls on the Ruta 27 are subject to review every three months, when the concessionaire can raise or lower the tolls within established regulations set by the Ministerio de Obras Publicas y Transportes (MOPT).
