The Tourist and the Hare
By Paul De Barros
Wondering what your next vacation
destination should be? Look no farther than
Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica.
Offering the scenic national park, an array
of beaches, and beautiful mountaintop
accommodations, this is the perfect spot to
soak up life.
This is with out a doubt one of the most
diverse destinations, catering to families,
backpackers, and romancing couples alike.
Here you’ll find fun activities to entertain
everyone. Explorers can hike through the
national park, finding hidden coves and
beaches. Families can enjoy the public
beach, riding on the banana boats and
slurping down snow cones, as couples sip
boat drinks with their toes in the sand.
Looking for the best place to stay? Perched
in-between Quepos and the Manuel Antonio
national park, The Falls makes you feel as
if you’ve entered a secret garden, while
still only an 8 iron away from great
restaurants and shops.

Exuding a simple elegance, crisp villa rooms
offer a home away from home. Complete with a
terrace balcony, beds made for a princess,
and a lush garden setting. You may not
decide to leave.
For restaurants that will tickle your taste
buds look up the following:
Kapi Kapi:
www.restaurantekapikapi.com. A
restaurant oh so nice they named it twice.
Serving a sensational blend of Thai inspired
dishes all with a Caribbean kiss. Start the
meal off with a plate of seafood cigars, egg
roll-esque wrappers stuffed with ocean
animals and vegetables. For the entrée, just
close your eyes and point, each dish will
make your tongue smile. After treating
yourself to such a fine meal, carry on my
wayward son with the warm and rich chocolate
soufflé.
El Avion: 2777.3728. A spacious eatery with
an incredible view. Aptly named, a fighter
plane from the 50s rests at the entrance.
While it’s flying days are long gone, this
plane has been turned into a close-quarters
bar. Open until 2 am, after your meal you
can keep that buzz going inside the fallen
airplane.
Ronny’s Place:
www.ronnysplace.com.
Don’t be put off by the long winding dirt
road or the confrontational cows, the bumpy
ride is well worth it. At the top of the
hill, you’ll find a great view and
restaurant with a relaxed open shirt feel.
Famous for their fruity sangria, the drink
choice is up to you. For dinner order the
whole red snapper. Expertly cooked and
seasoned, even a vegan would devour this
one.
Manuel Antonio offers great beaches, great
food, and above all, great times. So what
are you waiting for?
