You don’t need a reviews of the public salaries policy you need to get this crazy salaries and perks under control for the governement employees.

For the record, CEO corporate pay and bonuses are decided in the private sector by stockholders and others. I for one was led to believe that we “serve” our country at what ever level and service is something you eventually leave to go back into the private sector. Public servants should receive no bonuses, no benefits beyond what the tax paying population receives, and when they leave office, no retirement. They should return to the private sector and become productive participants in their country and its economy.

In the corporate sector bonus’s and stock packages are performance based and set by the board. In the public sector in Costa Rica it appears to be fairly unchecked is what InsideCostaRica is reporting.

Don’t really see the difference to any corporate CEO in the United States where the actual salary is vastly outdone by stock packages and incentives.

The President say she needs more taxes? What is needed is an audit of all Govt employees, a 60 % reduction in pay and a 100% cut in benefits.
