This “cozy” alliance between China and Costa Rica was a mistake from the beginning, when Ocar Arias traded Taiwan for China. In my opinion, Chinese influence will “strangle” Costa Rica over time. There is “no free lunch”.

Las Colonias de La Suiza in Turrialba would really like a new bridge, the old one was badly repaired and then fell during a rain storm, the lack of a bridge is really messing things up here, the cost would barely put a dent in the donation.
