This is a digression, but Costa Rica really needs to re-think its holiday schedule. Countries really cannot attend to the business of governing and providing necessary services to the people if everything closes down for so many days at a time. Also, governmental offices and other businesses need to stay open during lunch hours – this can be accomplished easily by having employees take their lunch breaks in two different shifts (e.g., 11:30-12:30 and 12:30-1:30), with half the employees being available at all times. I don’t know why retailers haven’t realized that other working people might want to use their lunch hours to do business. I worked over 30 years in govwrnment where it was required that half the staff be present during lunch hours and holidays – the public would have been outraged by less.
