I do not disagree with a single statement in your comment, just so you know. My previous comments were extremely limited in scope, in reference only to the conduct of 95% of the actual US troops on the ground and their conduct during the conflict. Nothing more, nothing less.

I do not deny for a second that the US bears a huge responsibility for the violence and chaos in the middle east.

I just feel it pertinent once in a while to remind people that a decent majority of US soldiers in Iraq returned without ever having fired a single shot, let alone taking the life of anyone.

The “Stolen Valor Act of 2005″ makes it a crime for frauds to claim military service when IN FACT no military service was done.

With all due respect, the damage is probably a lot worse then we will ever know.
Sometimes it isn’t direct overt military intervention by the US but through third parties enabled either by direct aid and intervention or through a back door policies. The chaos and total destruction of Iraq is completely the fault of the US maybe not Jimmy’s mom who makes apple pie but the country as a political entity
Just because you and many others are good guys (and i mean that sincerely) doesn’t mean that there wasn’t massive indiscriminate killing and that there was a system to prevent that information from reaching the media. As Bush made publicly clear he would institute a removal of media and they were also targeted.
Middle east societies may be warring all on their own BUT the west is directly to blame for propping up the worse dictators imaginable and creating and maintaining a state of complete chaos and preventing these societies from normalizing.
There is something missing form the discussion and that is every power we support is perpetuating injustice.
Violence begets violence and we must denounce it, always and denounce our complicity.

Actually Greenwich Connecticut IS 30 miles from the World Trade Center Twin Towers. There are actually towns in New Jersey that are 5-10 miles from WTC.
Perhaps you are geographically challenged?. You can find me here:
1. Fly into NYC Lagauardia Airport.
2. Follow signs for Bronx Whitestone Bridge.
3. Pay toll and cross bridge.
4. Follow signs for I-95 North.
5. Stay on I-95 North for 25 miles.
6. Get off at exit 3- Arch Street.
7. Follow signs to Metro North Train station. I can meet you there.
OR
You can fly into NYCs Kennedy airport and follow directions to Bronx Whitestone Bridge.
Repeat steps 3-7.
If you are a woman and attractive, cool.
If you are a dude, sorry, I’m 100 percent hetero.
