Scotiabank Plans Panama Wealth Unit

PANAMA - Scotiabank is planning to introduce a wealth management center in Panama, BNamericas reports.

The Canadian bank is launching the Scotia Private Client Group this year, which will be integrated with its newly-acquired wealth management business from BNP Paribas.

The acquisition, which adds to Scotiabank’s client and asset under management base in Panama, also strategically positions the group in the wealth business in Latin America.

The BNP Paribas-Scotiabank deal includes the French bank’s Grand Cayman and the Bahamas unit.
