Central America Games in
Panama
PANAMA - Athletes will compete in eight of
19 sports on Saturday, during the Ninth
Central American Games being held in Panama.
The equestrian contest will conclude today,
and El Salvador is the favorite country to
win most medals in the individual and team
competitions.
In triathlon, 29 athletes from Panama, Costa
Rica, El Salvador, Honduras and Nicaragua
will compete for medals in the men's and
women's competitions.
Combat sports such as karate, tae kwon do
and wrestling, in addition to weightlifting,
will also grant medals today.
In volleyball, Panama will play against
Honduras in the men's contest, and against
Belize in the women's competition. The first
softball games will be played today.
