1,400 Kilos of Cocaine Confiscated in Panama

PANAMA - Panamanian authorities reported yesterday confiscation of 1,400 kilograms of cocaine by an operation of the National Police in Veraguas province.

According to TVN-Noticias (news agency) the illegal substance was detected in Leones Island located in Montijo gulf.

Preliminary reports refer the arrest of three persons of Colombian nationality. Also confiscated was equipment that included a satellite communication system.

Last year actions against drug traffic in Panama resulted in confiscation of more than 55 tons of drugs, mostly cocaine.
