ICE-Alcatel Trial Postponed To Monday

Following 2006 days of waiting,  an appendectomy, has postponed the ICE-Alcatel trial for a few days more.

The court and the other 8 defendants in the case that includes former Costa Rican president, Miguel Angel Rodriguez, learned that the trial would not occur Wednesday morning as scheduled, as one of the accused, Rodrigo Méndez Soto, could not be present.

Soto underwent surgery on Tuesday to remove his appendix and doctors said he needs to recuperate a few days.

Rodriguez, like the other defendants and the Fiscales (prosecutors) said a few days more would not change anything.

The trial is now scheduled to commence on Monday April 19.
