US Cyberwar Against Venezuela
Denounced
CARACAS - The US government promotes and
finances through its intelligence community
and various organizations a cyberwar against
Venezuela, denounced researcher and
political analyst Eva Golinger.
According to the Venezuelan-American writer,
for the past two years the US Agency for
International Development (USAID) and the
National Endowment for Democracy (NED) has
been active in the crusade.
Both organizations provide resources and
conduct training workshops aimed at building
opposition political movements with a strong
presence on the Internet and other modern
information and communication technologies,
said in an article written for VEA
newspaper.
According to Golinger, more than $10 million
have been invested from Washington in the
subversive undertaking.
The anti-Venezuelan initiatives include
support to buy equipment. Today, more than
200 thousand people use social networks as
Twitter and Facebook against Hugo Chávezâ�Ös
government.
Golinger explained that the cyberwarfareâ�Ös
purpose are internal destabilization and the
establishment of campaigns with lies about
the reality of the country.
The Pentagon began in 2003 to consider
cyberwarfare its next battlefield, he said. |
