Blatter Lauds
New Costa Rica
Sports Minister

President Joseph
S. Blatter has
offered his
congratulations
to Giselle
Goyenaga Calvo,
who was recently
appointed
ministra de
Deportes de
Costa Rica
(Minister of
Sports).
A former athlete
of some note,
the new minister
represented her
country
internationally
on the
volleyball court
and also
competed with
Costa Rica’s
Triathlon team.
A graduate of
FIFA’s Masters
Programme in
2009, Ms.
Goyenaga’s
achievements
have now brought
her to the
pinnacle of all
things sporting
in her native
land.
“It fills me
with great pride
to know that Ms.
Goyanega’s
career has been
such a success
and reached new
heights with
this challenge,”
said the FIFA
President.
“On behalf of
FIFA, I wish
Costa Rica’s
newly elected
minister

in her new
