More Than 300 Paraguayans to
Bolivian Summit
ASUNCION - More than 300 Paraguayans
travelled to Bolivia to take part in the
First World Peoples'' Summit on Climate
Change to be held this week in Cochabamba.
The delegation is made of ambassadors from
various indigenous peoples, non-governmental
organizations (NGO) and other social
organizations working with native people,
unions, representatives of many ministries
and a broad cultural delegation, the
Ministry of Environment official Patricia
Sacco said.
Minister of the Environment Oscar Rivas told
to Prensa Latina that the summit in
Cochabamba is very important to Paraguayans
because it was announced by President Evo
Morales.
The summit will be held from April 20 to 22
and will tackle the structural causes of
damages to the environment, Climate Refugees
and Mother Earth's Rights, and harmony with
nature to ensure the well-being.
President Evo Morales announced the first
World Peoples' Summit on Climate Change
after the Copenhagen, Denmark Summit�s
failure.
