Probe on Journalists Killings
Urged in Honduras
TEGUCIGALPA - Honduras' society and the
international community are demanding an
urgent probe and due punishment for those
responsible in the murder of seven
journalists, Tiempo daily highlights Sunday.
On its main editorial "Who Are They and
Why?", Tiempo reminds that the people need
professional investigation and convincing
results for the tragic death in March and
April of the seven journalists who were
gunned down, killings which have also
affected the reporters' guild.
The assassinated journalists are Joseph
Ochoa (Tegucigalpa); David Meza (La Ceiba);
Jose Bayardo Mairena and Victor Manuel
Juarez (Olancho), Nahum Palacios (Colon),
Luis Antonio Chevez and Sergio Orellana (San
Pedro Sula).
Honduras's new authorities have provided
little information on the killings. |
