Record Colombia-US
Extraditions
BOGOTA - President Alvaro Uribe has
extradited more Colombians to the US than
his predecessors, a record 1,149 since it
started with the deportation of sports
official Hernan Botero in 1984.
His predecessors' just handed the US DEA 333
alleged felons, says the Justice and
Interior Ministry.
Still, the US -through ambassador William
Brownfield- called to realign the mechanism
in evident disgust with Colombian refusal to
extradite capo Diego Rendon, a.k.a Don
Mario. |
