Voters Choose Chinchilla For President
In the first day of voting for Inside Costa
Rica's poll on the choice of Costa Rica's
next president, more than half of the
readers voted for Laura Chinchilla.
Of the 96 votes cast on Monday, the first
day of the poll, 52 (54%) voted for Laura,
32 (22%) for Otto Guevara, 7 (7%) for Ottón
Solís; 1 (1%) for Luis Fishman, 3 (3%) for
anyone else that the above and 1 (1%) other.
The poll is an indicator of the possible
results of the election voting by Costa
Ricans on Sunday, February 7.
For anyone of the candidates to be declared
winner, he or she must obtain at least 40%
of the votes, failing which would mean a
second round vote in March between the top
two candidates.

poll.
