Argentina Assumes
MERCOSUR Parliament
BUENOS AIRES - Argentina is assuming the
temporary presidency of the Southern Common
Market's (MERCOSUR) Parliament on Monday,
represented by Senate president pro tempore
Jose Pampero.
The ceremony will take place at the Upper
Chamber's Reading Hall, with the
participation of legislators from Brazil,
Uruguay, and Paraguay.
Argentina will assume that responsibility in
the first half of the year.
An official note from Argentina's
congressional headquarters explained that in
the first semester, the regional Parliament
is expected to hold its sessions in the
capitals of Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay,
as well as Uruguay's Montevideo, where it
has its permanent headquarters. |
