Venezuelan PCV Decries
Colombian Paramilitary Plan
CARACAS - The Venezuelan Communist Party (PCV)
charged activities by Colombian paramilitary
commando in Venezuelan territory, specially
in the western state of Zulia.
PCV spokesman in this state, Eduardo Marmol,
pointed out that they plan to assassinate
social fighters and revolutionary
personalities and called the attention of
the authorities to take measures to prevent
this provocation.
Marmoi told the press in Maracaibo, 700
kilometers west of Caracas that the plan was
made by the Colombian government with which
Venezuela shares more than 2,200 kilometers
of borders.
Among other personalities on the list of the
paramilitaries is Oscar Figuera, PCV
secretary general.
Yesterday the PCV Politburo assured having
information on the preparation of a
provocation by the governments of the United
States and Colombia whose objective is
accusing the Venezuelan government of giving
safe haven to terrorists.
Yul Jabour, member of the party board
indicated that the purpose was to kidnap
revolutionary leaders, move them across the
border to simulate a clash with Colombian
insurgents and accuse them of aiding the
guerilla. |
