Get Out The Umbrella And Jacket, Cold Front Brings Rain And Low Temperatures This Weekend

Although there are still a couple of good months before the rainy season comes out way, this weekend it will feel like it is already here.

The Instituto Meteorológico Nacional (IMN) - the weatherman - predicts rain and cold temperatures for until Sunday due to two cold fronts and low pressure system.

The areas affected are the Central Valley, the northern zone and the Caribbean coast. Some cold temperatures and rain could also be felt in the Pacific coast as well.

The rains of yesterday had the Comisión Nacional de Prevención de Riesgos y Atención de Emergencias (CNE) scurrying, leading to declaring a "green" alert for the areas of Limón and San carlos, Guatuso, Upala and Los Chiles in north Alajuela.

The cold snap comes on the heels of a heatwave last week when temperatures soared past the 30 Celsius mark in the Central Valley and almost 40 Celsius in the coastal areas.
