Integration at Central America Northern Triangle

SAN SALVADOR - Statesmen and the business higher echelons'' leadership of the so-called Northern Central American Triangle will meet on Monday in this capital to review the regional integration process development.

According to Salvadorian Presidential Communication Secretary David Rivas, El Salvador's President Mauricio Funes and his peers from Guatemala and Honduras, Alvaro Colom and Porfirio Lobo, respectively, will attend the meeting.

The Panamanian business upper echelons' leaders will also participate in the meeting, according to the Salvadorian National Private Business Association Executive Director Raul Melara.

"One of the objectives is to tighten diplomatic relations and reassert undertakings and trade ties among the three countries," he said.

Participants in the meeting will also speak in favor of making progress in the process of the regional customs association to facilitate and encourage inter-regional trade, said Melara.
