Navies of Six Countries in Argentina Bicentennial Parade

BUENOS AIRES - Naval units of the armed forces from Brazil, Chile, Uruguay, Ecuador, Venezuela and Bolivia are participating on Saturday in the military parade on occasion of the Bicentenary of Argentinaâ�Ös May Revolution.

The parade was scheduled for two hours by land and air, with the participation of 5,000 soldiers, the Operational Command of the Argentine Armed Forces stated.

The 1st Infantry Regiment "Patricios," the Military College, and the Naval, Aviation schools and that of the Army, Navy and Air Force noncommissioned officers are participating in the ceremony.

The main stage of the celebrations is a Latin American concert tonight, led by Argentinean Leon Gieco, and the performances of, among others, Jaime Roos, Gilberto Gil and Colombian singer Toto la Momposina.

President Cristina Fernandez opened on Friday the May Revolution Bicentenary Walk in the central Buenos Aires "9 de Julio" avenue.

Uruguay's President Jose Mujica will travel on Monday to Buenos Aires, to attend celebrities on occasion of Argentine's bicentenary on May 25, the presidency reported.
