Colombian President Calls On
Voters To Support Ruling Party Candidate
BOGOTA - Colombian President Alvaro Uribe
Monday called on voters to support
presidential candidates who back his
government policies, especially the ruling
party's candidate Juan Manuel Santos.
"There are three important aspects ensuring
prosperity of the country: security,
investment promotion and social policy.
Let's take care of those achievements we
have," Uribe said in an interview.
Santos, presidential candidate for the
ruling Social National Unity Party, is a
front runner in the election campaign.
The former defense minister is closely
followed by the candidate of the Green
Party, Antanas Mokcus, an opinion poll for
the presidential elections showed on Sunday.
The Colombian presidential election will be
held on May 30. |
