New Version of Hayah Shorts
Films in Panama
PANAMA - The fourth version of the Hayah
Short Films Festival called in Panama for
June 2 to 6 counts on the participation of
about 170 works of several parts of the
world, the organizers informed.
Mariel García, executive director of the
event, explained that 19 productions will
compete in the category of Best Foreign
Short Film with contenders fro Spain, Costa
Rica, Argentina, Venezuela, Cuba and Brazil.
In reference to national spaces there are 11
movies that seek prizes as best work and
script as well as honor mentions.
Panamanian shorts include titles such as El
Milagro de Ana, A todo santo le llega su día,
Wendy, Bruja (Witch), Hombre atado a una
silla (Man tied to a chair) and El Escritor
(The writer).
García added that at the same time there
will be competitions of about 60 works from
film schools in Cuba, Spain and Argentina.
The event, she said, is aimed at promoting
national films with the creation of audio
visual products and to boost future
collaboration between the participants.
