Venezuela, Italy To
Strengthen Cooperation
CARACAS - Venezuela and Italy Thursday
signed seven agreements aimed at boosting
cooperation in economy, industry, finance,
education, infrastructure and other areas.
Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez signed the
agreements with Italian Foreign Minister
Franco Frattini, after attending the two-day
2nd meeting of the Italian-Venezuelan
Council for Economic Cooperation and
Development held in Caracas.
The agreements cover such aspects as
technology training for a Venezuelan railway
project, joint studies in the fields of
oncology, hematology and hematopoietic stem
cell transplantation, as well as a water
resources management project in Italy, among
others.
In a letter to Chavez, Italian Prime
Minister Silvio Berlusconi stressed the need
to strengthen bilateral ties. |
