Arenal Volcano Continues To Dazzle And Amaze

The Arenal volcano continues to amaze tourists with small eruptions, showing off its beauty that includes spewing incandescent stones.

And although the residents of the area are used to the volcano showing off, this show has turned more than one local's head.

The volcano started spewing ash and generated pyroplastic flows from its cone on Monday, then slowing down until Thursday and Friday, when it dazzled it agai.

Among those captivated by the awakening of the colossus is an experienced French volcanologist who is travelling in Costa Rica with a television crew filming a documentary that will be seen by millions of viewers in Europe.

The Arenal volcano has been active since 1968 when eruptions resulted in the death of 78 people and serious damage to the surrounding area.

The Arenal is located 2 hours northwest of San José international airport and is visited by thousands of tourists every year, who can also take in the hot springs offered at nearby hotels.
