Celebrates 125th
Anniversary
Players of the
lottery in Costa
Rica will see a
noticeable
change on Monday
for next
Sunday's draw,
as the Junta de
Protección
Social (JPS), is
issuing a new
edition to mark
the 125th
anniversary of
the first
lottery in Costa
Rica, which took
place on June 7,
1885.
At the time a
lottery ticket
cost 25
"centavos" (one
tenth of a
colon) and the
big price was
˘1.000 colones.
According to the
JPS the winner
of the first
lottery dray was
Amalaia
Rohrmoser.
For next
Sunday's
lottery, the JPS
is issuing a
copy of the
first lottery
that includes
the same design
and size of that
of 1885.
Of course, each
ticket will cost
˘5.000 colones
or ˘500 for one
of ten pieces of
each ticket. |
