Governors Assume Office in
Bolivia
SUCRE, BOLIVIA - The first governors in
Bolivia's history take on their posts on
Sunday in this city, the country's
constitutional capital.
Presidency Minister Oscar Coca said it will
be a historic event where there won't be
speeches by the new authorities, and it is
the second step in the consolidation of the
autonomous State.
President Evo Morales is heading the solemn
ceremony at The House of Freedom where the
Bolivian Independence was proclaimed in
1809.
Coca also confirmed the attendance of the
nine governors elected in the elections of
April 4 who will take the oath from the Head
of State as established in the Constitution.
There is no other parallel event officially
schedule, but Coca left open the possibility
that the governors could have organized
symbolic possessions, as occurred on Friday
in Santa Cruz (East) and Beni
(Northeastern). |
