Presidenta Met Smoking Ban With Approval

Presidenta Laura Chinchilla was smiles from ear to ear yesterday following the approval in second and final vote of the Ley Antitbaco.

The presidenta said she was pleased that the smoking ban was now law, but acknowledged that it should have been ratified a few years back.

For the presidenta, regulating the industry and the consumption has been hard work, noting that the challenge now is to enforce the regulations enacted on Monday.



Editor's note: Perhaps the smiles is that now legislators can get back to the Plan Fiscal (Tax Reform), a bill that has been pushed hard by Chinchilla and her government.
