Apple Working On Two New
iPhone Models
SAN FRANCISCO - Apple Inc. is developing two
new models of iPhone including one that may
be prepared for Verizon Wireless, the
largest wireless carrier in the United
States, U.S. media reported on Monday.

Apple is
contracting Pegatron Technology
Corp. to build an iPhone that has
CDMA capability, the cellular
technology used by Verizon Wireless,
The Wall Street Journal said in a
report on its website, citing people
briefed on the matter.
The CDMA version of the iPhone is
notable because Apple has long had
an exclusive iPhone relationship
with AT&T, the second largest U.S.
wireless carrier whose networks are
using the GSM standard.
It is reported that Pegatron is
scheduled to start mass producing
the CDMA iPhone in September, but it
was unclear when Apple might make
the model available.
The other new model of the iPhone
may debut this summer, according to
The Wall Street Journal.
