Ticos Travelling Abroad More Than Ever

No Alcohol During Holy Days
Unlike the national elections last month when the "Ley Seca" (ban on alcohol) was suspended for the first time, this Holy Thursday (April 1) and Good Friday (April 2), the ban will be in place.



Rainy Season To Be Within "Normal Parameters", Weatherman Says
Semana Santa (Holy Week) is traditionally a hot and dry time of year. And this year it will be no different. However, it is also a reminded that the rainy season is around the corner.






This Week There Are Two Legal Holiday Days, Thursday and Friday
According to Costa Rica's Código de Trabajo (Labour Code) Good Thursday (April 1) and Good Friday (April 2) are legal holidays and workers who are required to work on those days are to be paid double their normal salary.



No Vehicular Restriction Of San José This Week
The Ministerio Obras Públicas y Transportes (MOPT) says it will not apply the vehicular restrictions of San José the entire week of Semana Santa, beginning with today Monday, March 29.



Costa Rica Hosts the First Latin American Global Medicine & Wellness Congress
More than 200 participants, 55 exhibitors, and 60 expert speakers have confirmed their participation in this medical tourism to conference. Free Tolls The Entire Week
The Ministerio de Obras Públicas y Transportes (MOPT) announced the suspension of all tolls on the autopistas General Cañas (airport toll station), the Bernardo Soto (Naranjo), the Florencio del Castillo (Tres Ríos) and the Braulio Carrillo (Zurqui).
