SAN RAMON – September 20th, 2012 – Two robbers broke into a 79-year-old woman’s home on Tuesday. Besides taking her jewelry and cash, the men assaulted the woman.
The incident was reported at 11 a.m. Tuesday morning, in the town of Volio, in San Ramon, Alajuela.
The victim was a woman by the last name of Scobe, a French citizen, and was alone in her home at the time of the robbery.
Jeff Kellerman, a Fuerza Publica official, said that the victim was assaulted prior to having her belongings stolen.
The Red Cross stated that the woman was transferred to the local hospital with serious injuries, however she was described as being in stable condition.
According to witnesses, who preferred to remain anonymous, the supposed burglars escaped quickly and hid in a nearby estate.
Police officers carried out a wide search, via air and ground, but were unable to locate the suspects.
