Traffic back to normal on General Canas highway

November 13th, 2012 (InsideCostaRica.com) Remarkably on time, today at 5:00am the General Canas highway was re-opened in front of the residential complex, “Los Arcos,” the location where last week a Bailey bridge collapsed as a heavy crane attempted to cross it.

Diego Herrera, Transit Director, stated that for the time being, traffic is returning to normal.

“There are a lot of cars passing in both directions. In the San Jose- Alajuela direction, over the Bailey bridges, as well as in the other direction,” said the officer.

He also said that transit officers would remain present, in order to respond to any incidents and to keep traffic flowing smoothly.
