Just B’Cuz Fashion Show in Perez Zeledon

September 12th, 2014 (InsideCostaRica.com) Thrifty Expats in Costa Rica usually shop at least occasionally at “Ropa Americanas”, to find an extra skirt, or some capri pants for the beach, or an Aloha shirt for the husband. The clothing comes from the USA and is composed of clothes that did not sell last season, or were mistakenly over-ordered by large department stores. Most clothing is new – often with the tags still on – but sometimes you get a gently used item. Tuanis. The prices are good, and ropa americanas are everywhere.

Here’s where two clever and industrious gringas step in with a brand new concept for this niche market: Just B’Cuz. Cathy Mata and Carol McKeon began Just B’Cuz to solve two problems: How to dress comfortably and stylishly “at a certain age”, in the tropics, and how to incorporate the fabulous finds from ropa americanas into one’s wardrobe, with panache.

Mata and McKeon deconstruct clothing finds, and remake them into one-of-a-kind, very wearable, and distinctive wardrobe items you can wear anywhere, and be both comfortable and remarkable.

Those of us in that demographic in Perez Zeledon are all in! Here’s an invitation to Just B’Cuz’ trunk show and fashion parade. Come to meet the masterminds behind this new endeavor, and pick yourself up a little sumpin’ sumpin’ at the same event.
