U.S. man dies suddenly while rafting in Quepos

November 24th, 2014 (InsideCostaRica.com) A 38-year-old U.S. man identified as Alberto Esparza Fausto died suddenly for unknown reasons while on a rafting trip in Londres de Quepos over the weekend.

Fausto was with a tour guide on a rafting trip when he suddenly complained of a sharp pain in his chest.  The tour guide contacted 911 and brought the man to the riverbank where Red Cross personnel arrived shortly after.

Unfortunately, responding paramedics found Fausto dead at the scene, apparently the result of cardiac arrest.

Fausto was reportedly in good health.  He was staying at a Jaco hotel along with 11 companions, according to reports.

Thirty-Eight and in apparent good health is no guarantee of no heart problems. In fact, that age is ripe for attacks. If his 11 companions staying at the hotel are of the female variety, maybe his ticker couldn’t handle the duty to service. Still, it’s sad to see someone in his prime struck down.
