March 30th, 2015 (InsideCostaRica.com) The bodies of three men were discovered on an orange farm in La Cruz, Guanacaste on Sunday afternoon. All three men appear to have been stabbed to death, and one of the deceased had been decapitated, according to authorities.
An unconfirmed report also indicated that one or more of the victims might have had their hands amputated.
Officials have yet to determine the victims’ identities or a motive for the crime.
One victim is believed to be in his 20s; another about 35, and the third is believed to be between 65 and 70 years of age.
At least three organized criminal groups are believed to operate in and around La Cruz, which lies near the Nicaragua border.
