Costa Rica Central Bank auditor found strangled to death in Escazu

December 28th, 2015 (ICR News) An accountant and economist who worked as an auditor for Costa Rica’s Central Bank was found murdered in the hills of San Antonio de Escazu on Sunday.

 

The body of 60-year-old Juan Antonio Calvo was found around 11 a.m. in a field not far from the White House Hotel, according to official sources.

 

The man appeared to have been strangled to death and suffered several contusions to his face.  His head had been covered with a bag.

 

The man’s vehicle had been discovered some two hours earlier – unlocked and with the engine still running – in the San Rafael area of Escazu, about 6 kilometers away.

    Somebody got too close to something big at the Fed. An obvious hit. Until Costa Rica takes on the organized crime syndicates within their own government, things will continue to get worse. They must start with replacing the top Fiscal, Jorge Chavarria. He simply is not willing to make the real arrests it takes to clean up this government. And it appears, neither is President Solis and the members of the Supreme Court. Corruption is like cancer, eventually it spreads to all areas when left untreated.

      Probably, as you point out, there is some corruption involved because, lets face it, there is always corruption involved, lol.

      i wonder what the conversion around the water cooler is

        That conversation around the cooler should be about what anomoly he possibly could have found, who was it reported to within and who else was privvy to the information. The fact that he was 60, and most likely a senior auditor should leave a small circle of people over top him to thoroughly investigate.

          It’s really hard to draw any conclusion like that but a co-worker is probably a good place to start looking.
          It’s possible that it has nothing to do with an actual investigation since there would already be a paper trail of memos and coworkers that would know. How does someone get private info about something that is completely unknown? Maybe he was fishing for a bribe? Maybe this is part of some sordid sex triangle? Maybe someone wanted his job.There are too many possibilities to start pointing fingers.
          But i’m sure it’s pretty quiet at the water cooler.
          “Soooo, how about this totally normal weather we’ve been having…”
          “Aaaanyways, i gotta get back to work”
          “yeah, yeah, me too”

    He was probably murdered by the largest mafia syndicate the CR government, someone wanted him to shut up he knew too much.
